It is not a tour operator, a ticket seller, or the official visitor authority; the city's own visitor organisation is Travel Juneau, whose contacts we print as public information in the footer of every page. What this site does
We research the questions a Juneau visitor actually has, how the cruise-port day works, what the Mendenhall Glacier costs and when it is open, whether the Mount Roberts Tramway is running, what the whale-watching options really differ in, and we print the answer with the date we read it. Where an excursion is worth booking, the page links to the platform that sells it; where the official office or the free option is better, the page says so plainly. The Juneau city guide homepage ties the site together, and the things to do and tickets pages are the catalogue.
Where the facts come from
Hours and prices come from the venue's own site or its operator: the US Forest Service for the Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center, Goldbelt for the tramway, the Alaska Division of Libraries and Museums for the Alaska State Museum, Capital Transit for bus fares, the City and Borough of Juneau for civic matters, and Travel Juneau as the destination marketing organisation. When an official page does not publish a figure, the Forest Service does not print the Nugget Falls trail distance, for example, we write "not stated" rather than borrow a number from a blog.
The tramway closure and other dated events
The Goldbelt Tram (Mount Roberts Tramway) has been closed since 30 April 2026, when a car failed to slow at the bottom station and injured two employees; it remained closed through the 2026 summer season with no reopening date published. The Mendenhall Glacier Recreation Area was closed for several days in August 2026 during a glacial-lake-outburst flood from Suicide Basin, then reopened in stages. Events like these are exactly why every page carries a "checked" date, read the date, not the headline.
How often figures are re-checked
Prices and hours are re-checked on a quarterly cycle, and sooner when an operator announces a change. Each page states the day its own figures were last read. If you find a stale figure, the contact page tells you where to send it.
